By having a dedicated Injury & Risk division, we remove the uncertainty and stress of managing workplace injuries, by providing support, advisory and in some circumstances a hands-on or outsourced IM capacity.

Our team of specialists will act as an advocate for our clients and their injured workers, with the aim to not only improve outcomes and reduce claims costs but also to ensure injured workers are given bespoke care to enhance their rehabilitation, return to work and recovery.

Interlink works in conjunction with all key stakeholders to facilitate the best possible outcomes for every workplace injury.

Our team acts for and on behalf of our clients, giving them the confidence and reassurance that all aspects of the claim are being managed, so they can focus on running their business whilst knowing their risks and exposures are being addressed and their injured workers are receiving the best possible care and their individual needs are being catered for.

Clients of Interlink automatically receive access to the following assistance in relation to Workers’ Compensation claims:

  • Collation and review of claims documentation with clients
  • Claim registration and submission to workers’ compensation insurers
  • Liability review, raising of applicable concerns with all relevant stakeholders
  • Ongoing liaison with key stakeholders throughout the entire claims process
  • Coordinate claims reviews involving the client, broker, insurer and any other relevant parties
  • Provide support and as required, attend case conferences, informal settlement meetings and WorkCover dispute resolution conferences
  • Monitoring of each claim, until complete closure

Additional Injury & Risk services include:

  • Ongoing claim status review and provision of outcome-driven strategy to facilitate best practice and cost-effective closure
  • Provision and application of clinical and technical expertise including strategies in regards to wage recoupment and injury cost reduction options
  • Identification and advice regarding mitigation of potential negligence exposures
  • Identification and explanation provided for injuries requiring report to regulatory bodies, such as WorkSafe
  • Ongoing review of legislative compliance including contract management and provision of advice regarding penalties for non-compliance
  • Upon request, review of IM, return to work and workers’ compensation policies and procedures
  • Assistance in establishing relationships with preferred providers, such as:
    • Medical providers, including independent specialists
    • Legal providers
    • Rehabilitation (treatment and/or vocational) providers
  • Liaison with key stakeholders in relation to matters impacting a client’s workers’ compensation premium
  • Liaison with Interlink claims team in relation to matters over-lapping with any general insurance and/or liabilities
  • Identification of potential and over-lapping industrial exposures.

Upon request, development and delivery of training to clients regarding best practice injury management, the workers’ compensation system and risk management strategies.

As required, provision of advice regarding any fitness for work concerns raised by clients, their options, exposures and any risks or potential consequences identified.

Upon request, conduct a review of and provide advice regarding the recruitment and onboarding process. Pre-employment screening, medical results and/or risks identified by clients during the recruitment process.

In addition to the above and for a small fee, your business may wish to engage Interlink to provide the following Risk Management services:

  • Develop and implement an early intervention program and management of acute and chronic workplace injuries
  • Contact with the injured worker
  • Facilitation of, and on occasion attendance to, medical reviews
  • Review of treatment plans and graduated return to work programs
  • Ongoing monitoring of each case until the resumption of full duties and recovery is achieved
  • Maintenance of comprehensive file notes and case records
  • High-level IM, Workers’ Compensation and Safety Systems Audits
  • Conduct review of site-specific IM & HSE procedures & processes
  • Assistance with risk identification and strategies to minimise these risks to ALARP
